Lacking one ring

I cannot wear my engagement ring anymore. I am so sad about it. It is not due to weight loss (I wish). It is because I think I am allergic to it all of the sudden. Every time I put it on I get this big ole rash on my ring finger that wakes me up at night. Once I take it off, it takes a week or so for the rash to go away. I have tried cleaning it well in case it was a chemical on the ring that was irritating me, but it didn't help. I can still wear my wedding band, thank goodness. But it sucks.

On another note Erin pooped in the potty today! She was looking like she had to go during dinner, so Mike took her and sat her on the Dora potty ring on the big potty. She cried a bit because it was hard for her to go, but I think sitting on the potty actually helped with gravity and no diaper and all. And then there it was! How cool is that? No wonder I want another baby! My baby is not a baby anymore. :)

Are you freakin' kidding!?!? (about Erin) That is crazy! You need to teach her the sign for "poop". :)

About your ring, I'm sure Nikki can tell you more, but I know she was having a similar problem with hers at one point. I can't remember what she did to resolve the problem, but I'm sure it couldn't hurt.

Ok, that is going to make us look really bad if Erin is potty trained before Ty! He still wants nothing to do with the potty. Way to go Erin.
That sucks about your ring. Weird that you can wear your wedding ring but not the engagement ring. Maybe you could put in on a necklace so at least you can wear it.

I definitely had that problem and definitely don't have it anymore. Pretty sure I took it to the jeweler to have it cleaned and that did the trick. Fear not! You will wear your ring again! :)

I can't believe Erin is big enough to poop on the potty!

I was going to comment about Nikki's experience but I see Keri and Nik already have :)

But .. I do have a nickel allergy and can't wear white gold. Its a pretty simple test if you go to an allergist. Mine was a patch they stuck on my back with several other metals. A few days (or a week) later, with the itching driving me nuts, they took the patch off and it was obvious I had a nickel allergy.

If it ends up being an allergy, can you have the diamond set in a different band? Then you can save your band for Leah...

That is so weird about your ring? What makes it different from your other rings?

I had a ring that reacted when I lived in Gainesville. It is a yellow gold ring that actually turned black. No impact on my finger, but when we took it to a jeweler, they rhodium plated it. It is now a gorgeous gleaming white gold ring with no reaction. There are some plating options if your finger doesn't get better.
