Q & A #9

I am looking for free things to do with the kids. I am SO bored. We do the same things ALL the time. Play outside in the cul-de-sac, go to the playground, go to the library, etc. Anything new to do out there?

April just took her kids to a free gymnastics class. It was kind of like an introductory class to see if the kids would enjoy doing it.

I'm sure you've been the children's museum in New Orleans. Maybe they have something like that in Charlotte.

I always had fun learning with my mom when I was little. She taught me how to draw, paint, make paper masche things, etc. There are so many fun crafts at Michael's in the kid aisle! I know Erin is too young though, right now.

Museums are always fun! Many are free on Tuesdays!

Petting zoos?

I am starting to feel the same way: we rotate filling up the pool in the driveway, going to Target, walking around the outside malls in Atlanta, touring all the playgrounds in a 10 mile radius. I really think what I'm going to start doing is on Sundays writing out kind of a plan, so that on Friday we haven't done the same thing every day (little activity book one day, library next). Geekish and Type A? Maybe. Hey, maybe that's me?!! Haha

Mandy, that sounds like a great idea! I am also geekish like that. My favorite program on the computer is Excel! A weekly plan sounds perfect. Thanks for the idea...

Haha.. I just bought a weekly marker board so I can keep track of our afternoon activities (mostly Jason's sports) and what to eat for dinner. Once I pull Halle out of daycare (which will be as soon as Elena's born and we're home from the hospital), I'm going to use it to fill up Halle's weekly activities too. That is a great idea!

The mall playground is a good indoor play area where Leah can burn some energy. I always enjoyed taking Halle to Blockbuster and Barnes and Noble too, letting her look around at everything. She doesn't have the expectation that I'll buy anything for her yet, so that's nice. I usually go back later without her to buy her something she paid a lot of attention to, and those end up being her favorite toys/books/movies.

You could come to florida.

...Just a suggestion. :)

I love to have a picnic. Just taking your lunch to the same ol' playground makes it new and exciting. Zach loves it!
