A while back a friend's then-fiance asked me what advice I would have for a couple about to get married. And the advice I gave him keeps coming back to haunt me as the best advice out there for newly married couples. Here it is...
The two of you probably want the same things out of life. That is an important foundation in a marriage. BUT. Your priorities in everyday life may be vastly different. If you can learn to compromise and/or understand and accept that, things may be easier for the two of you.
I still struggle with this one.

Soooooo true. I still struggle with it too.
Wow... great advice! Keith and I actually fight about the word "compromise". He seems to think that compromising in a relationship is a lose-lose rather than win-win. Despite saying this though, he's not too bad about actually compromising.
