It's like having a newborn...

For some reason, for the last month I have not slept through the night. Almost every night, one kid or the other wakes up and needs something. Last night it was both of them an hour apart. And then on the nights that no one wakes up, I can't sleep. I wake up every hour it seems like. It is getting beyond frustrating.

I think Erin got used to me going in to her because she was sick and now expects it. So tonight I am breaking that pattern. No going in unless I think she has thrown up (which is unlikely). She can just cry it out and learn that nighttime is for sleeping. Maybe once she sleeps through the night consistently again, she will stop waking up at the butt-crack of dawn.

I am So tired in the mid-afternoons, then by 7 or so I am wide awake and can't settle down until after 10pm. So going to bed early is not going to help. Maybe I will take Tylenol PM one night and let Mike handle any emergencies.

Yes...you need to nip that in the butt....you need your sleep girl! Tylenol PM makes you so groggy in the morning.....it does to me! Can you take naps with your girls?

I'm soooo with you. I haven't had a good night sleep in awhile either. Halle sometimes wakes up in the middle night and just stays up. She doesn't wake us up, but she'll just turn the light on in her room and play. Then she'll be exhausted when it's really time to get up and get going. I've been hearing phantom noises in the middle of the night now. I'll just know that I heard Halle open her door or talking to herself.. and I'll get up to tell her to go back to sleep and she's sound asleep with the light off. And Elena.. oh boy. We've spoiled that kid something rotten. :( Working on letting her cry more but she's SOOO LOUD that it leads to Halle waking up and staying up all night. :( Blah!

I've had almost no sleep the last two nights in a row. I bet I give Nic and Min a run for their money on lack of sleep right now.

The worst part is.. I think everyone would sleep soundly if we just let Elena sleep in our bed. She actually stays put in our bed (doesn't flail around and kick us) and stays quiet, so everyone can sleep. This worked so well that we got her spoiled on it though and now she hates waking up in her room by herself. I'm planning to have Halle and Elena share a bed when Elena is old enough to handle that anyway, so part of me wants to just let her sleep with us so she continues to sleep happily and quietly and without flailing around. She'll be used to sharing a bed, so it seems like it would be an easy transition. But a bigger part of me just wants my kid to sleep in her crib by herself.

Anyway... you are not alone. :)

Ughh...we've all been there. The worse part of course is that EVERYTHING else is SO MUCH worse when you aren't sleeping.

Good luck!

You poor thing! Ella doesn't nap anymore either! I've been on the verge of a nervous break down the past few weeks....it's not good! I need a break....

Oh...I so...don't miss those days! My daughter was always a pretty good sleeper until she hit three. Then, we went through practically a whole year of her waking up in the middle of the night. Maybe it's an age thing? I hope it gets better for you!

I am sorry you aren't getting any sleep lately. Sleep deprivation is the worst. I hope everyone's sleeping patterns get back to normal soon.
